If you are looking for a fun dessert to make and love apple pie, this is your next go to dessert. They are super easy to make and remind me so much of mini apple pies. I made this dessert for the first time during Thanksgiving and it was a hit. All you need is a few items and about 30 minutes of your time.

What you’ll need

Baking sheet

Whisk

Pastry brush

Rolling pin

Flour

Pizza cutter

Ingredients

  • 2 packs of puff pastry
  • 5 green apples (I used Fiji apples and cut them into very small cubes)
  • 1.5 cups of brown sugar
  • 1.5 tablespoons of butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Salt

Egg wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons of water

Instructions

  1. Thaw puff pastry prior to use
  2. Pre heat oven to 400 degrees
  3. In a medium pan, melt 1.5 tablespoon of butter and add in your apples. Once these begin to cook and soften, reduce the heat to low and add in the brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract and salt
  4. Allow the mixture to simmer for a few minutes, remove from the heat, taste, and set aside
  5. Now that you have your apple mixture, you will want to start rolling your pastry sheet. Remove one pastry sheet from the box and roll it flat. Be sure to add flour so it does not stick to the rolling pin
  6. Cut the sheet using your pizza cutter into 3 parts vertically and then in half
  7. Place a spoonful of the apple mixture to the center of each square
  8. Use your egg wash mixture to seal the edges of the pastry then use a fork to seal it
  9. Place these on your baking sheet and put them in the fridge for about 15-20 minutes
  10. Once you take them out of the fridge, add a little egg wash to the top of the pasty. This will allow the top to get that nice flaky topping
  11. Place the baking sheet into the oven and allow this to bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown
  12. Once these have baked, allow them to cool
  13. Top with caramel or chocolate and serve!

These are so delicious and so quick and easy to make. Let me know how these turn out for you by commenting below.
